Sustainable harvesting of seaweed in Isafjardardjup.

Seaweed is a valuable product, but poorly harvested in Iceland. The seashore of Isafjardardjup is long and with high cover of seaweed which could make it suitable for seaweed harvesting. In the project the possible yield of seaweed will be estimated in cooperation with farmers and landowners. The main subjects will be Fucus vesiculosus and F. Distichus, but also other species such as F. spiralis and Ascophylum nodosum.
